Nesa Samuel is a Speech Language Pathologist here at BDI Playhouse. She has a B.S.E in Early Elementary and Special Education and her M.S in Speech Language Pathology. She is trained in orofacial myofunctional therapy, and also specializes in infant feeding and lactation care. Nesa is on a mission to make pediatric feeding therapy, Gestalt Language Processing approach, articulation therapy, and functional communication not just effective, but ridiculously fun. She believes the best progress happens with belly laughs, silly faces, and meeting kids exactly where they are (sometimes literally, on the floor building block towers). Creating strong bonds with her kids’ family is rewarding as she wants to ensure carryover and family support.

What is the biggest mistake a therapist can make? Not building a rapport with your kid and their family. Get to know them. Show and prove that you care. It’ll make all the difference.
